The method
A sticky pitch is a specific ask someone can actually act on
Most networking asks fail for the same reason: they are pitches for goodwill rather than pitches for a specific action. “Let me know if you think of anyone” gives a willing person nothing to do. A sticky pitch replaces that with one sentence a listener can match against people they already know.
The six-part sequence
The order matters as much as the content. The listener learns who benefits before they are asked for anything.
- 1
Context
What you are doing and when. One or two sentences, no preamble.
- 2
Audience
Who benefits from it. Say this before you say what you want.
- 3
Value
What those people practically gain. Plain language, no hype.
- 4
Offer
Timing, terms, or incentive — stated honestly and without pressure.
- 5
The pitch request
The exact kind of person you want to meet, described so a listener can scan their contacts.
- 6
Measurable target
A number and a window that makes the pitch finite and easy to say yes to.
The 8-point quality test
Every package this app produces is scored against all eight criteria, with a one-line verdict for each so you know exactly what to strengthen.
- Specific
- Names an observable kind of person, not a category. “Podcast hosts who interview independent consultants,” not “people who can help.”
- Memorable
- Someone can repeat it accurately a week later without notes. Short sentences, concrete nouns, one idea.
- Actionable
- There is a single obvious next step the listener can take today — usually one introduction they already have in hand.
- Measurable
- A number, window, or geography makes it targetable: “5 introductions before the September launch,” not “as many as possible.”
- Relevant
- The ask fits the audience you're speaking to. A great pitch for a trade association is the wrong pitch for a founder dinner.
- Credible
- Every claim is supported by something you actually did. No inflated numbers, no borrowed authority, no vague superlatives.
- Non-transactional
- It asks for a voluntary act of connection, not a trade. Nothing is conditioned on a review, a rating, or a favor returned.
- Ethical
- It distinguishes an introduction from an endorsement, avoids guarantees, and respects consent, platform rules, and the introducer's reputation.
What the app gives you
- A compact pitch headline naming the project and its purpose.
- A polished 150–250 word Full Pitch written in your own voice.
- A 30-second spoken version, timed for a real conversation.
- The single most powerful one-sentence ask, standing alone.
- 5–8 precise categories of people who can make the introduction.
- Flagged phrases that read as transactional, with replacements.
- The full 8-point quality test with pass / needs-work verdicts.
